Regional Fodder Station, Hyderabad (TS) was set up in 1973 to cater to fodder development in the Central Deccan Zone i.e. Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Chattisgarh & odisha. One of the main objectives for establishing this station was to bridge the gap between Research and Extension Agencies in the field of fodder development. This station would work as a bridge between research and extension work, ensuring that the results of research reach the actual users (farmers) without delay. A strong liaison is established between Research Institutes, Agricultural Universities, and State Departments to augment the feed and fodder resources of this region.

Objectives:

• To establish a nucleus of an extension organization in Central Deccan climatic conditions for effective technology transfer on all aspects of fodder/fodder seed production and related disciplines.
• To demonstrate to farmers the improved modern techniques of fodder production and utilization, and strengthen the extension activities of the State authorities at the farmer’s field.
• Conducting training programs for State extension officials and farmers of the region, and holding field days for farmers both at the farm and at the farmer’s field during appropriate seasons.
• Multiplication and distribution of foundation/certified forage crops, perennial grasses, and legume seeds.
• The Regional Station also conducts farmer’s day events in various spells at the farm and in collaboration with the State government, K.V.Ks, NGOs etc.

क्षेत्रीय चारा केंद्र, हैदराबाद की स्थापना 1973 में मध्य डेक्कन क्षेत्र यानी आंध्र प्रदेश, छत्तीसगढ़, तेलंगाना और उड़ीसा में चारा विकास को पूरा करने के लिए की गई थी। इस स्टेशन की स्थापना का एक मुख्य उद्देश्य चारा विकास के क्षेत्र में अनुसंधान और विस्तार एजेंसियों के बीच अंतर को कम करना था। यह स्टेशन अनुसंधान और विस्तार कार्य के बीच एक पुल के रूप में काम करेगा, जिससे यह सुनिश्चित होगा कि अनुसंधान के परिणाम बिना किसी देरी के वास्तविक उपयोगकर्ताओं (किसानों) तक पहुंचें। इस क्षेत्र के चारा और चारा संसाधनों को बढ़ाने के लिए अनुसंधान संस्थानों, कृषि विश्वविद्यालयों और राज्य विभागों के बीच एक मजबूत संपर्क स्थापित किया गया है।

उद्देश्य:

• चारा/चारा बीज उत्पादन और संबंधित विषयों के सभी पहलुओं पर प्रभावी प्रौद्योगिकी हस्तांतरण के लिए मध्य दक्कन की जलवायु परिस्थितियों में एक विस्तार संगठन का केंद्र स्थापित करना।
• किसानों को चारा उत्पादन और उपयोग की उन्नत आधुनिक तकनीकों का प्रदर्शन करना, और किसान के क्षेत्र में राज्य अधिकारियों की विस्तार गतिविधियों को मजबूत करना।
• राज्य विस्तार अधिकारियों और क्षेत्र के किसानों के लिए प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम आयोजित करना, और उचित मौसम के दौरान खेत और किसान के खेत दोनों जगह किसानों के लिए कृषक दिवस आयोजित करना।
• आधार/प्रमाणित चारा फसलों, बारहमासी घास और फलियां बीजों का गुणन और वितरण।
• राज्य सरकार, के.वी.के., गैर सरकारी संगठनों आदि के सहयोग से फार्म पर विभिन्न चरणों में किसान दिवस कार्यक्रम भी आयोजित करना।
